Trillium Health Resources Supports School-Based Therapy  in Hyde County
Agreement with Southeastern Integrated Care will serve students ages 5 through 18

GREENVILLE, N.C. – Trillium Health Resources has signed a memorandum of agreement with Hyde County Schools and Southeastern Integrated Care. Students will be able to receive mental health services during the school day, minimizing barriers to health care and promoting academic and social success.

Referrals for the outpatient therapy can come from Student Services Team (SST), a parent, school counselor social worker, principal, and others. School-based mental health therapists will meet with the students in the schools in private locations after receiving parental permission. When necessary, telehealth services will be offered. Therapists will tailor the treatment to the child’s needs based on a comprehensive clinical assessment.

“Integrating behavioral health support directly into schools ensures that students receive the care they need in a familiar and accessible setting,” stated Nancy Leach, Director of Student Services with Hyde County Schools. “While mental health care is valued by many in our county, for families dealing with the challenges of living in economic distress, such as food insecurity or economic instability, mental health care often feels like a luxury. Considering the current mental health crisis, strengthening the mental health support network within our schools is the only way we will help our students develop the skills they need to thrive academically and beyond.”

Based on the agreement, Southeastern Integrated Care will share quarterly information about numbers of clients being served, number of therapy sessions, types of services, therapist information and other aggregated data relevant to demonstrating program effectiveness. Information will abide by HIPPA regulations and will not include any protected health information.
