Small Business Funding Project

Trillium knows that having a job and financial security are important to our lives. Having a job gives us a purpose and helps increase independence. We also feel more connected to others.

Trillium offers financial support for members and recipients interested in starting a new small business or supporting their current business.

Are you eligible?

Members and recipients interested in applying must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• Must be a Trillium member or recipient 18 years of age or older and either
  • have Medicaid; OR
  • has received state-funded mental health, substance use, or intellectual/developmental disability services in the past year.
• The Trillium member or recipient must own or plan to own the small business.
• The applicant must show the need for a specific good, product, or service for the success of the member’s self-employment through their small business

Funding Guidelines

Funds can only be used for the start-up of a business or to support a current small business. Trillium will not provide money directly to any members, recipients, or providers. Funding is limited and will be first come, first served, and based on funding availability. 

• Trillium will provide between $100 and $5,000 to each approved applicant. Final amount depends on the stated need in the application.
• Approved applicants can use funding for purchasing goods, products, and services. Examples include raw materials, business or office supplies, and technology. All supplies must be used for the small business.
• Trillium will make any approved purchases and have them delivered to the member.
• Trillium will research all requests for items and services to find the best value and cost.
• Services must be from a licensed, insured, and authorized vendor, in applicable circumstances.
